Thurs and all of Friday

Well Wiscombe is one of the places we go to no matter what time I leave gsy to get there some thing always goes wrong  well this year was no different ! I left the garage with big paws car in truck he had taken mine to due its little rub with bank in gsy. I arrive at the docks just after 4 pm on Thursday my man at the ferry informs me that the boat will be approx 2hrs late . No worries settle in truck to sort some paperwork etc

 3hrs later we leave bound for jersey then on to Portsmouth  arrival time in p/mouth should have been approx 6.30 am We drifted in the channel for 5hrs with no engines then it would only do 8 knots ( I reckon I could row quicker) To cut a long story short after 22 hrs we arrive at p/mouth at  2.30 pm) Friday, no worries only got to go to big paws ‘s drop his car, go to Newbury finish mine off load and go to wiscombe I arrive at 11.10 pm Friday night only 31 hrs before I was just leaving nice eh !!!!!! And no space to park in which surprisingly I took in my stride blagged a sandwich from duncell quick drink and the straight to my bunk to push up some zzzzzzz’s

1^st practice dry but rain imminent ( how  unusual) I just take it easy making sure it all feels okay yep it does.

2^nd practice wet but no dramas.

3^rd practice greasy as the slippery pole not nice.

 Am not too worried as we get a practice on sun .

With the upheaval of C.I. rounds everything has been in and out of lorry umpteen times as yes Moose has made a major f up left the laptop with his data on the shelf at work

4^th practice just up the pace a little to see were we are in the pack  allow 40 sec run puts us 5^th

1^st timed we put on better rubber and post a mid 17 split but only a low 37 sec to qualify us 4^th

Moose is a bit  concerned as Last year with splits like that we were in the 35 sec bracket. Now know how everyone else felt last year when martin and I were in the 35 secs and they all struggled.

Run off with our best set post and even better split and go slower than my qualifier only a37.32 9^th place and 2 pts I did miss a gear on straight so didn't really deserve any more I suppose.

2^nd timed with a huge delay with robs accident (think he deserves the pilots licence now his Gould has now flown higher than mine its an ongoing joke between rob and I )we post a 37.09 a Q  4^th again

This time as we prepare for run off moose is eager to be neat and tidy and make no mistakes and try and salvage the weekend but all is going according to plan and then a half spin at saw bench puts pay to that he manages to keep engine running some blacks for crowd entertainment and not really a happy chappy

The end to a weird weekend really and not a great deal of satisfaction so  a  quick clear up and back to big paws and then home on Monday for a few days work then back on Thurs for the trip to Ireland . No rest for  wicked
