LOTON PARK rounds 13 &14

This being the first weekend of the season where I was leaving work mid afternoon for 4 o’clock flight to Southampton  on Friday .

Moose crew for weekend  as follows  moose ,Gina and tea lady,

Moose drove like a girl so suppose you could say first time this season with an all girl team !!!! Come to think of  it that’s prob a bit of an insult to women !!!!!!

Maybe the vicar should been brought in for a driver substitute

Moose and Gina traveled up and arrived at Loton at approx 11’oclock Friday night , heavy  traffic and a pitstop at the grovesy local for a bar meal and quick pint

Sat practice

Did I mention the weather now too bloody hot !!!!!

1^st practice  taking it very easy  for obvious reasons posted a 50.04 (funny that  quicker than my last run off in Simons car at first loton ,not possible considering how easy I was going ,you can all draw your own conclusions)

2^nd practice 49.53,getting there but not up to speed, for some reason was looking forward  to practice finishing and having car in one piece

3^rd practice 48.60  which was 6^th quickest so packed up reasonably happy

Went for a nice bar meal with mcb666 and wife and Paul Ranson (funny wasn’t wearing his rose tinted spectacles - lol ) and Gina

 A very enjoyable evening it was, there was still time for a evening track stroll and was rewarded by seeing a deer ,.fox and badger. (there is a pun on words there) lucky deer !!!

Even at 10 o’clock at night the track temp was quite unbelievably warm

Settled for a decent nights sleep

Sun race day

This would be Gina’s first experience of being in sole charge for a race day meeting and remarkable she coped really well and was really impressed with her dedication not to sure about orange g string over shorts for 1^st timed run though  !!! Still others might disagree  !

1^st timed 48.19 qualify 9^th but run 6^th on road  because of shared  drives .

Run off 47.95 with a pb split of 18.59 but this time was woefully shy of the pace  setters and we finish 7^th 4 pts

2^nd time run post an  identical time of 47.95 and qualify 8^th

Run off post a 47 .74 new pb split of 18.55 but only good enough for 6^th and 5pts

Takes our tally  to 9pts out of 20 and total of 69 still 5^th

I was really disappointed but it seemed that no matter how hard I drove I couldn’t get a time still glad to come away with some points and a car still complete.

Next meeting Doune this weekend so this will be our 4^th in consecutive weeks  a real energy  sapper

And no moose crew for this trip, so hopefully it will be trouble free.

Drives of the weekend have 3 candidates this week they are jam strangler awesome !! Deryk  young  stunning and Mr ransom some very impressive times and speed (I shall have to watch my rear )
