View from the Electric
Chair – Wiscombe
[Richard, we get Nick's
views via David, who sometimes sends a colourful email, so here it is;
Buenas Noches Richardo
We are off to sunny Spain on Sunday, much
better than bloody Belfast!!
Fingers crossed that I have attached his
missive this time. Please let me know asap if it is not attached. Had hoped
to send a pic of Robs car in the top paddock but it is on my pc at work.
Piccy of my secretary belly dancing instead!! Also Nick on the tram at
Seaton.
Top secret - no sign of any kangaroos at Goulds
today.
See you at Gurston.
No more chairs until then.
Adios
Davido
...we will just have to survive on the belly dancer, then].
Electric Chair 8
First of all good to hear
that Rob Turnbull escaped Ok apart from a broken ankle because I got a big
fright sitting in the top paddock and I had to give up after the crash because I
didn’t know what was happening.
Another strong weekend for
Simon Durling, as top qualifier both times and another round win. It was
another up and down weekend for Martin Groves with a bump in the morning run off
which should have sidelined the car for the day but mad old Grovsie decided
otherwise and amazingly pulled out yet another win in the second run off.
Co-driver Paul decided not to run.
Sandra Tomlin in the old
Merrick/Moran MP72 had a slow afternoon run because of struggling to find the
right gears. That’s why your mum was so slow Oliver! Another bad weekend for
old Roger Moran with no run offs and no points. He has got to get his act
together or he will finish 4th at best. Make sure you keep the car
nice and warm for Scott.
Another strong weekend for
Trevor Willis in his new v8 OMS with qualifying the car for both run offs. Well
done Trevor. We were following him on the way him as he lives near us and my
mum thought he was still at a hillclimb.
Rob Turnbull as well as
his big off almost did exactly the same on his Sunday practice run and he just
knocked off the front wing. Basil Pitt almost did the same thing as Rob on his
first timed run but escaped ok.
On the whole it was bad
weekend for the Mason boys with Tim not qualifying both times and William
qualifying first time but going straight on up the escape road at Martini. He
also did this on his second qualifying run so he did not qualify for the second
run off.
Popped in to Goulds today
and heard that Mike Endean he is hoping to be out racing the Puma at August
Gurston. Also today I saw the Groves/Ranson Gould getting repaired for the
Ireland round.
At Ireland Roy Dawson in
the old Fleetwood car is entered at the hillclimb as well as the sprints. Can
he beat all the hillclimbers?
Hope you all have a good
Ireland and Shelsley we are off to Granada in Spain for 2 weeks on Sunday and
will be back in time for Gurston. So see you all there.
